Sacked DAP man files complaint against Selangor MP

PETALING JAYA: An allegation has been made against a DAP MP in Selangor that a RM1,000 allocation for the monthly rental of a service centre is not used wholly for the said purpose.
Instead, it has been claimed that half the amount went to the account of the service centre.
The allegation was contained in a complaint made by sacked DAP member Yap Kon Min to the Selangor state secretary and Bar Council last month.

When contacted, Yap declined to elaborate, only saying that Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim had forwarded his complaint to state executive councillors Teresa Kok and Ronnie Liu for “further action”.

Yap hoped his complaint would be investigated fast and action taken against the MP should his allegation be true.
Both Kok and Liu did not respond to calls and text messages on the matter.
Yap had also previously filed a complaint to Khalid, claiming that a DAP councillor, while chairing a council meeting, recommended a legal firm belonging to a fellow party MP be given a case to handle.

He alleged that the councillor, a lawyer, had abused power by making the recommendation for the firm to handle the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) debt collection case.

It was recently reported that the same legal case was at first given to a PKR-related firm to handle for a fee of RM15,000.

However, the case was later “given” to a law firm headed by a DAP MP, which qouted a RM55,000 fee.

It was believed the second law firm later reduced the fee to RM15,000 following discussions with the MBPJ.

Yap said Khalid had also directed Kok and Liu to look into a complaint against the councillor.
