NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Specifications Leaked?

NVIDIA's GeForce Kepler juggernaut is about to roll through slippery paths as the company comes up with new SKUs to capture key cost-performance sweetspot and value-performance market segments. The GeForce GTX 650 Ti could end up being a crucial cog in the wheel for the juggernaut, according to a recent DonanimHaber report.











NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 650 Ti will succeed the current GTX 550 Ti, and help the company capture a key sub-$250 or sub-$200 price-point. It will be based on the spanking new GK106 silicon, built on the 28 nm silicon fabrication process. It appears as if the GTX 650 Ti enables all the components there are, on the chip, and hence has an interesting specifications-sheet.

The GeForce GTX 650 Ti, according to the report, will pack 960 CUDA cores, a count which is just 37.5 percent lower than that of the GeForce GTX 680. The chip will feature a 192-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, and both 1 GB and 2 GB memory options will be available. NVIDIA will seat the amounts of memory on the odd-sized memory interface by making a few chips share 32-bit wide paths meant for single chips (à la GeForce GTX 550 Ti).

Interestingly, NVIDIA is in no hurry to launch the GeForce GTX 650 Ti. The company's Summer-Autumn launch schedule begins with the GeForce GTX 660 Ti, followed by GeForce GTX 660, which are based on GK104 and GeForce GTX/S 650, which is based on the GK107, which arrive some time in August-September. The GeForce GTX 650 Ti will stroll its way to the market in Q4-2012 (October-December).
